Mikey
Now Mikey could climb trees he played in the forest, he laughed and he talked to the sun
He rode on his horse, he rode on his bike, he thought he came from the stars
Yes Mikey would dream at night, dream of a special light shining down from the sky
Oh Mikey why did you have to go and leave me all alone, I promised I'd not say a word
Oh Mikey how could I have known
One morning so early dear Mikey went walking, a long long way he did go
Finally he stopped he knew not how he got there, to him it seemed all like a dream
Now Mikey looked down and saw there before him a hole so deep in the ground
He raised up his arms as he started to fall, he smiled and whispered good bye
Oh Mikey why did you have to go and leave me all alone,
We could have been best friends forever having so much fun
Please come back Mikey, stay with me, won't you be my friend
I promised I'd not say a word
Oh Mikey how could I have known, come back...

Jody
Lots of people, scary people, too many people
So curious
So Jody she's waiting for something to happen to her
Lots of people, scary people, too many people
So curious
She's lived such a long time without knowing why she is her
Lots of people, scary people, too many people
So curious
Tonight is the last night that Jody will ever come here
Come here my precious, come closer, let me look at you
Ah yes you will do just fine
Lots of people, scary people, too many people
So curious
So Jody so lonely, she's been so alone for so long
Lots of people, scary people, too many people
So curious
She works in a circus, dancing and singing her song
Lots of people, scary people, too many people
So curious
Tonight Jody's meeting with someone who could do her wrong
Lots of people, scary people, too many people
So curious
In only a moment dear Jody will lose all she has
Hah! Hah! Hah!
She has all I need, her shape will fetch me millions
Sign here my precious, be mine forever
Jody so old and grey
Jody on display
Jody so like an egg
Jody right this way
Your mine - all mine

Mr. Davis and his Cat

Mr. Davis and His Cat
Mr. Davis and his cat were really something special
You could see them everyday at three riding in his Edsel
Down the highway they would ride his cat up on the dashboard
Now and then a stop or two then off they'd go again
Everyone knew Mr. Davis and his little cat
On Mondays they would go downtown to Alpha's hardware store
Talk to Pete and Bob and Bill about the first world war
They'd laugh a bit and yell a lot and sometimes cry some too
But most of all they'd share old times the way old people do
Everyone knew Mr. Davis and his little cat
Tuesday's were the day for food they'd shop three different markets
First they'd go to get canned foods at the Plaza Grocery
Then up they'd walk to the City Market, my how they did like to shop
Hello Ralph, Hello Gladys, they'd say as they bought their milk
Then off they'd go to Purity to buy the freshest meats
Everyone knew Mr. Davis and his little cat
Now Wednesdays were a different day, you know the middle of the week
So nothing much would happen then, they'd both get lots of sleep
Thursdays were a special time, they'd walk to Pioneer Park
They'd watch the Babe Ruth baseball games and cheer the home team on
Mr. Davis and his cat really liked dear Pioneer Park, they stay as late as possible until it go too dark
Yes everyone knew Mr. Davis and his little cat
Fridays were the day they went without eating meat, I don't think his cat liked that, well not so very much
Well Saturdays were a lazy day, hardly anyone had to work
Most folks would have a bath, dress up for a night on the town
But Mr. Davis and his cat weren't ones for doing that
They'd stay at home and watch TV, I think it was Lawrence Welk
Yes everyone knew Mr. Davis and his little cat
Sundays Mr. Davis would go to church and pray, his cat would stay at home, I don't know why it was that way
They'd have an early supper and retire to their beds, the cat would softly purr as Mr. Davis rubber her head
Everyone knew Mr. Davis and his little cat
Yes everyone knew Mr. Davis and his little cat
Mr. Davis and his cat were really something special
I'll always remember them, for you see I bought his Edsel

Sam Seven Seven
Sam Seven Seven, modern detective, just a regular guy
Worked in a building without any ceilings, Sam liked to look at the sky
Took any case, solved every one, Sam, modern private eye
Long hot summer, 4th of July, everybody so uptight
Old people dying, little kids crying, the neighborhood can't get no relief
Sam's mother named Carol, found in a barrel, dead since early last night
Seems Ebby, Sam's father, lost his cool in the heat and shot her with an old nail gun
Cops tried to lock old Ebby up, he got away, they said he was real tough
Sam Seven Seven went looking for his father to pay his last respects
Down on the corner of 23rd and Clay, Sam found his dear old dad
Pulled out his 45 and shot him right between the eyes, Sam was never one to fool around
Sam Seven Seven, modern detective, just a regular guy

Born To Serve

Born To Serve
Harry was born before his time
He never quite seemed to fit
Harry had sent the world
The good , the bad, he never missed a trick
So many years had come and gone since Harry arrived
He'd grown quite tired of serving this life
Without ever knowing just why
Harry was a good man, at least that's what I've heard
He'd help old people end their day
And pass them through this life
Harry had been born to serve, but who, he was not sure
So Harry dug a hole one day and buried himself alive
Harry felt he'd be better off dead without ever knowing just why

Jay Clem

Jay Clem
We've got a friend, his name is Jay Clem
He works in a building downtown
We used to talk a bit a few years ago
We'd send him tapes, and talk to him on the phone
We'd bill the call to another number and the operator would scold him
We're sorry Jay, but we, well I, couldn't afford to call - otherwise
We'd call Jay once a year and talk about this and that
Once they told us they might use some of our tapes
But I guess it never happened
Yeah right…
Hey, but Jay's OK, Jay's OK, Jay's OK, yes Jay's OK
Talks a bit funny, but Jay's OK, yes Jay's OK
Looks a bit odd, but Jay's OK, hey Jay's OK
Jay's OK,
So now he's leaving and things are different
He says they're' not signing anyone new
So why now Jay, just when we're finally getting the goods
Together
Oh well, I understand
Maybe we'll meet again soon
And maybe things will be different
Wish you the best Jay, we hope your dreams come true
Sincerely
Hey, but Jay's OK, Jay's OK, Jay's OK, yes Jay's OK
Talks a bit funny, but Jay's OK, yes Jay's OK
Looks a bit odd, but Jay's OK, hey Jay's OK
Jay's OK,
OK Jay...

The Beach Kangaroos
What's that hopping on the beach - see the Kangaroos
What's that bouncing in the sand - happy Kangaroos
Watch their teeth and see them punch - angry Kangaroos
Do watch out don't get too close - see the Kangaroos, the beach Kangaroos
Watch them playing on the beach - see the Kangaroos
How they love to watch the day - happy Kangaroos
They love to eat watch out for them - hungry Kangaroos
Do watch out don't get too close - see the Kangaroos, the beach Kangaroos
See the Kanga's how playful they can be, oh poor Kanga's why won't they let you be
You were there first just like the Aborigines, why must white folk always be this way
Watch them as they use their tails - see the Kangaroos
They bounce and hop like pogo sticks - happy Kangaroos
Don't bother them they'll knock you down - angry Kangaroos
Do watch out don't get too close - see the Kangaroos, the beach Kangaroos
Watch them playing on the beach - see the Kangaroos
How they love to watch the day - happy Kangaroos
They love to eat watch out for them - hungry Kangaroos
Do watch out don't get too close - see the Kangaroos, the beach Kangaroos
See the Kanga's how playful they can be, oh poor Kanga's why won't they let you be
You were there first just like the Aborigines, why must white folk always be this way

See What I Mean?

See What I Mean
I got a truck that can go real fast, it's really built, yes it's really built to last
I like to drive it while I'm watching TV, just watch me go and you'll see what I mean
I like to swim, I like to play in the water, it makes me feel so good you know the way I ought'a
Go down the river or surf in the sea, just watch me go now and you'll see what I mean
I got a friend who took me to the zoo, it's really neat you know there's quite a lot to do
We saw the Zebras, the Hippos and the Lions, we saw the Monkeys, boy were they a climbing
I wish the zoo would set the animals free, I'd ask them home to play and watch some TV
Just watch me go now and you'll see what I mean, just watch me go...
What makes the world go round?
What makes life what it is?
Why is it we are here?
I wonder if we ever find out? Hmm...
I'd like to fly a plane and go up real high, it might be fun to maybe give it a try
I'd like to take a boat and sail to Japan, see how they live in that Samurai land
I'd like to paint, I'd like to take some funny pictures, I'll write a book and then I'll give a lecture
I'll be a big star on the TV
Just watch me go now and you'll see what I mean
Just watch me go and you'll see what I mean
Hey here I go, I'm going away...

Little Bessie
There's something that I saw inside your room last night
That made me want to go away and hide somewhere
But something that I saw made me promise
Not to ever say a word
If only I could tell you what it was inside your room
Oh then maybe we would not be in this boiling pot of stew
Really messy, kinda guessy, Little Bessie was a cow
Took a number in the thunder while the old man ate cucumbers
It was hazy in the west where the sun made Frank a pest
A bit of water for my father would have been the prefect gift
If not for Larry who should have married, all the rich and lazy fairies
Really messy, kinda guessy, Little Bessie is a cow
Went to the coast to eat Chuck roast and have a real fine time
Climbed a tree in the middle of the sea and played a game of penuckle
It was hazy in the west where the sun made Frank a pest
A bit of water for my father is the prefect gift
If not for Larry who finally did marry, all the rich and lazy fairies
Really messy, kinda guessy, Little Bessie died a cow
There's something that I saw inside your room last night
That made me want to go away and hide somewhere
But something that I saw made me promise
Not to ever say a word, a word
If only I could tell you what it was inside your room
Oh then maybe we would not be in this boiling pot of stew
Mmm, no, uh uh…
It was hazy in the west where the sun made Frank a pest
Frankie Frankie is a pest he's got lots of hairs all over his chest
They itch and itch won't give him no rest
That's why Frankie's such a pest
He's a pest
